Hello again from the team at the OM@home blog, a blog about children and young people, written for children and young people . . . .
For young people just like you, about young people who inspire us here at OM HQ.
Young people like all those to have made a special promise . . . .
It’s called The Sandy Hook Promise . . .
This is a pledge to honor those who lost their lives in Connecticut last month, and to take steps to ensure that such terrible episodes cease to occur. To encourage and support common sense solutions. To make communities – and our great nation as a whole – happier and safer places.
To put an end to violence. To come together. To seek connection.
Those pictured above are all from Newtown and, as such, their message deserves to be heard.
That their message makes such sense, that it inspires so, means it is having an impact. But still, the message needs to be spoken even louder.
Those behind The Sandy Hook Promise, a non-profit corporation established following last month’s tragedy, need YOU to join them. Together, connected, they’re confident that, this time, there will be real change. Not convinced? Please take 90 seconds to watch this short film:

.
Still skeptical?
Here at OM HQ, we’re proud to make The Sandy Hook Promise, for all the things that the pledge entails are the things that have long inspired our efforts. Things like love. Things like community. Things like tolerance, kindness and understanding. These are the things that will be required if, this time, there is going to be change.
So please, make the promise and let’s all move on, with purpose and strength. Let’s all support our families, our neighbors and our own, with dedication, love and community. Because every human being is filled with incredible potential to create positive change.
Choose love, belief and hope, not anger.
Be open to all possibilities.
Choose love, and love everyone . . .
